Our series, “Not Like Me”, continues with a candid and practical conversation with special guest, Ryan Dowd. Ryan is the Executive Director of Aurora’s Hesed House, the second largest homeless shelter in Illinois, and the largest shelter outside of the city of Chicago. In this conversation, Ryan and Lead Pastor Scott Hodge, explore the topic of “Empathy” and how embracing relationships with people who are not like us involves tension, conflict, enrichment, and joy. Ryan explains how the “revolution is in the relationship” and we become more when we appreciate who we are in relation to others.
