This week, lead pastor Scott Hodge takes a closer look at John’s gospel story (John 4:5-30) of Jesus’ encounter with the Samaritan woman at the well. Through this narration, we are reminded of the grace offered to us by Jesus in the form of living water, offered to quench our thirst for love, connection, and wholeness.

This week, Tammy Helfrich continues the Lenten season by looking at Jesus’ mountain top experience in Matthew’s gospel. Through this story we find that while mountain top experiences can be wonderful, disorienting, and fleeting, they ultimately prepare us, heal us, and equip us for what we were meant to do and lead us to become who we were created to be.

March 4 & 5, 2017 – Lent – Week 1 – Scott Hodge

Lent TITLE CARDS.001.jpeg

This past weekend marked the beginning of Lent – the forty day season that leads up to our Easter celebration. To begin our Lenten journey, Pastor Scott Hodge explored the importance of being rooted in our identity as God’s Beloved, and how that can empower us to overcome the three universal temptations Jesus faced in the wilderness: the temptation to say, “I am what I DO”, “I am what I HAVE” and “I am what OTHERS THINK.”
